Aura guide
Aura colors and what they actually mean
Your aura is the energetic tone people pick up on before you speak — the reason one person feels like a warm kitchen and another like a thunderstorm. Colour is simply the easiest way to describe it. This guide covers the twelve colours that show up most often, what each one says about personality, love and work, and how to tell a bright field from a depleted one.
How to read an aura colour
Reading an aura is less mystical than it sounds: you are describing the impression a person leaves. Three things matter more than the colour itself.
- ✦Brightness. A clear, luminous colour means that energy is flowing. The same colour, muddied or dull, means the same trait is overloaded or depleted — red becomes anger, green becomes resentment, blue becomes silence.
- ✦Layers. Almost nobody is one colour. A stable core colour with shifting edges is normal — the core is character, the edges are this month.
- ✦Change. Fields move with sleep, work, grief, love and season. A colour that has shifted recently usually points to the part of life that is currently doing the most work.
Aura colours and your zodiac sign
Your sun sign describes the way your energy tends to move; your aura colour describes how it currently feels to be near you. Fire signs skew toward red, orange and gold. Earth signs pool in green, gold and deep brown-reds. Air signs run yellow, blue and silver. Water signs gather in blue, indigo, silver and violet. They are two descriptions of one person, which is why reading them together is more useful than either alone.
